The Dolomites of Trentino Alto Adige: World Heritage Site
The World Heritage Committee, which met in Seville on June 26, 2009, included the Dolomites among the natural heritage of humanity.
After the discussion by the 21 members of the World Hermitage Committee, the candidacy of the Dolomites was fully approved and now the nine Dolomite groups are registered in the list of UNESCO protected natural heritage.
The Dolomite groups - Pelmo-Croda da Lago, Marmolada, Pale di San Martino-San Lucano, Belluno Dolomites, Friulian and Oltre Piave Dolomites, Northern Dolomites, Puez-Odle, Sciliar-Catinaccio- Latemar, Bletterbach, Brenta Dolomites - they have obtained recognition from the United Nations organization for Education, Science and Culture as a serial asset for their geological and landscape exceptionality.
